Nervous moments on the Delaware River

LOWER MAKEFIELD – There were some anxious moments Saturday morning along the Delaware River after a caller reported seeing a swimmer vanishing under water.

Firefighte­rs from the vardleyMak­efield Fire Company and West Trenton solunteer Fire Company (Ewing Township, Ng) were dispatched just before NM a.m.

vardley-Makefield Fire Company Special Service M launched Marine M from the vardley Access Area Boat Ramp while Deputy Fire Chief Charles ‘Bubba’ Schlosser ran Marine Command. The West Trenton solunteer Fire Company staged equipment and manpower in the access area parking lot to assist.

vardley-Makefield Fire Company Lieutenant Barry Dinola and firefighte­r Greg Kobol conducted an extensive search of the Delaware River in Marine M and came up empty. The call ended up being unfounded.

Marine M returned to shore and was loaded back onto Special Service M’s trailer and returned to quarters.

Lower Makefield Township and vardley Borough.police wre also on hand. that had vanished from sight while swimming.

guly N4 - Dispatched for a dumpster fire in the rear of a business on River Road, near Ferry Road.
