Thelma Virginia (Rapp) Karr, 89, of Worcester formerly of Lansdale and Ambler, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at Meadowood at Worcester. She was the wife of the late Streeper Karr, III.

Born April 7, 1923 in Kimberton she was the daughter of the late Vernon Rapp and Fyeatta (Scherer) Rapp. She married Mr. Karr in 1955 and worked as his partner for almost 50 years in their homebuildi­ng business.

Mrs. Karr was a member of Central Schwenkfel­der Church. She was member of the DAR serving as an RIfiFHU IRU ERWK FKDSWHU DnG state level. Earlier she was active with Girl Scouts as a volunteer as troop leader and leadership roles at the district level. Mrs. Karr was a former member of Glenside U.C.C. where she taught Sunday school and was active with the women’s circle. She loved traveling, reading, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchild­ren.

She is survived by her children, Susan Nydick, and her husband, Robert L. Jr., of Lower Gwynedd, Sara Gowing and her husband, James, of Lower Gwynedd; her sisters, Arleen Favinger, Mary Ann Springer, Evelyn Landis, Joan Diener; and four grandchild­ren.

In addition to her husband she was predecease­d by two brothers and two sisters.

Relatives and friends attended her funeral at 3 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 16, 2012 at Central Schwenkfel­der Church 2111 Valley Forge Road, Lansdale, PA 19446, where friends called for the viewing from 2 to 3 p.m. Interment followed in the adjoining church cemetery.
