Vote straight Democratic
To the Editor:
On Nov. 6, Americans will for the 57th time vote to elect a president. Some people take this privilege for granted, and others don’t even bother to show up. This is a tragedy. We all need to take this responsibility — our American birthright — seriously. soting is the least we can do for the sake of ourselves and our children.
f would like to urge voters to vote straight Democratic, from top to bottom.
Four years ago, the Republican Party had literally taken this nation to the brink of catastrophe. That’s not just a cliché; it’s a fact. Think back to the mood of late 2008/early 2009. There was widespread pessimism about the future. Most economists were predicting not a recession, but depression.
President Obama inherited this mess and immediately went to work to fiX WKH SUREOHP. DHVSLWH the constant obstacles put up by the party of NO (the GOP), Obama got the “stimulus” passed — and now every economist with an ounce of honesty will tell you that without that legislation, the U.S. would still be in a depression.
Since then we have seen more than 40 months of job growth. The Dow is at record-high levels. The horrible housing crisis is all but over. And GM is not only in business, it’s thriving.
Why would we ever want to return to the failed policies that brought us to that FULVLV LN WKH fiUVW SODFH?
As usual, f will share some important websites that can come in handy for the election. Canfvote. org will tell you if you are registered and where you should vote. fSideWith. com lets you take a presidential issues quiz and according to your responses will match you to the candidate who most closely agrees with you. Perhaps most important this year is politifact.com, which VHSDUDWHV IDFW IURP fiFtion and truth from lies. f highly recommend that all voters visit this site; check the “Pants-on-Fire” tab, and see who is lying the most and who is being lied about the most.
Finally, for all voters in Ambler’s 2nd Ward, please be aware that your polling place has been switched from Borough eall to the Senior Adult Activity Center at 45 Forest Ave. (at the corner of Forest Avenue and North Spring Garden Street).
