Michael J. Ryan

Michael J. Ryan, 66, of Glenside, died Oct. 18, 2012. He was the husband of 42 years to Deborah (nee Cliff) and father of Jennifer Boyd, Amy Schmidt and Missy Monserrat. He is also survived by six grandchildren; his sisters, Marilyn Farmer and Eileen O’Doherty; and his brothers, Larry and Dennis.

Michael retired from the Philadelphia Electric Co. after 35 years. He was a member of the Greater Glenside Patriotic Association. He chaired the Children’s Morning Program for 32 years.

He graduated in 1964 from Bishop McDevitt High School, where he was the captain of the football team. Michael and Deborah coordinated the guitar Mass at St. Luke’s for nearly 10 years. He was an avid guitar player.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the William R. May Funeral Home, 354 N. Easton Rd., Glenside, PA 19038. Relatives and friends were invited to the funeral home for his viewing Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m.
