Kiamichi Tech Students Inducted into National Technical Honor Society
Kiamichi Tech – Talihina recently inducted Colt Fields and Katlynn Cox into the National Technical Honor Society.
Colt is currently in his third year at Kiamichi Tech – Talihina, having been enrolled in the Criminal Justice and EAST (Education Accelerated by Service and Technology) programs as a high school student. He chose to return as an adult student to attend the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air-conditioning) program using the Steps to Success scholarship. This scholarship is awarded by Kiamichi Tech to students who graduate from one of its partner schools.
Katlynn attends Clayton High School, and she is currently in her first year at Kiamichi Tech – Talihina. She is currently enrolled in the EAST program, where she studies both graphic design and VR (virtual reality) design.
National Technical Honor Society's mission is “to honor student achievement and leadership in career and technical education, promote educational excellence, award scholarships, and enhance career opportunities for the NTHS membership.”
The National Technical Honor Society advisor for Kiamichi Tech – Talihina is Michael Phillips. He also serves as the math and science instructor.
