Choctaw Nation Announces Princess Pageants for 2022
The Choctaw Nation Princess and Royalty Program is beginning plans for the 2022-23 princess pageants in each of its 12 districts.
Annually, the Choctaw Nation crowns three local princesses in each district. During district pageants, one representative is chosen in each division and will advance to compete in the Choctaw Nation Royalty Pageant. The Royalty Pageant is held during the annual Labor Day Festival at Tvshka Homma where three young women are crowned Little Miss, Junior Miss, and Miss Choctaw Nation to serve as ambassadors of the Choctaw Nation for the following year. All contestants must be between the ages of 8-22 years old and compete in their respective division: Little Miss - 8-12 years old; Junior Miss - 13-17 years old; and Miss Choctaw Nation - 18-22 years old. Contestants must be 1/16degree Choctaw or more with a Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB) with a Choctaw Nation tribal membership and reside in the district in which they are competing. Prospective contestants can pick up an application at their local Choctaw Community Center or visit www.choctawnation.com/p rincess-pageants. The application along with the required documentation is due to the community center two weeks before the pageant in which they will be competing.
