Meet the Pushmataha County Chamber’s new Administrative Assistant
Hello, my name is Brandi Dean. I moved here from the Texas Hill Country in 2021. I fell in love with Antlers the first time I came to town. After working from home as a Registered Sanitarian for 6 months I started reaching out to different community organizations in Antlers to see how I could volunteer my time to this wonderful area. Since I used to volunteer at my local VFW in the Hill Country, VFW Post 3658 in Antlers was my first stop. Commander Karl Laeger sent me to the Touch of Joy Thrift Shop, where I started volunteering once a week. I also spoke with the City Manager, Michael Taylor, about community events which led me to the Chamber of Commerce monthly meeting. During the meeting I leaned of the possibility of a future position with this organization, which was eventually followed by my application and subsequent hire as the new Pushmataha County Chamber of Commerce Administrative Assistant.
When I am not working on septic systems; volunteering or at the Chamber, I enjoy working on my homestead caring for my family and processing meat during deer season. In the past, I have been a ranch hand, custodian, bartender, meat market manager, park ranger and health/ septic inspector.
Through my experiences
I have gained incredible work ethic. I know how to find and resolve issues, implement policy, listen and be empathetic to community complaints and find reasonable solutions. I believe my strength is insight through gaining as many different perspectives as I can.
I look forward to putting my experiences to work for the citizens of Pushmataha County as the new Chamber of Commerce Administrative Assistant.
