Bobby Glen Cariker was born May 21,1937, in the Martinbox Community of Oklahoma to Effie Kate and Noble Clarence. Cariker went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 23, 2023. He graduated from Stigler High School in 1954 and began working in the oilfields in Rankin, Texas, to save money for college. On April 6, 1962, he married the love of his life, Nancy Gayle Cumpton. Bob went to work for National Chemsearch in Texas in 1962 was quickly promoted to head the new facility which opened in Sunnyvale, California. Bob and Gayle decided to move back to Stigler to raise their two children Anjanette and Kevin in 1968. Bob was a long-time educator and administra­tor at Stigler Public Schools. He was very active in the First United Methodist Church and was the “Voice of the Panthers’’ for over 40 years. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfathe­r, and a faithful friend to all who knew him. He will be missed by so many. He is survived by his wife Gayle, of the home, son Kevin of The Woodlands, TX., daughter Anjanette and husband Sam of Stigler. Three grandchild­ren: Jake Blankenshi­p and wife Sheri of Tahlequah, Jordan Castillo and husband Tony of Belton, TX, and Haden Cariker of The Woodlands, TX; sister-in-law, Prissy Buttram; bonus grandchild­ren Mitchell Rose and wife Natalie of Carlsbad, NM, and Elizabeth Overstreet and husband Justin of Oklahoma City. Great Grandchild­ren: Luke Zachry, Tony Castillo, Bobby “Greyson” Castillo, Addie Rose, and a host of friends and family. Viewing was held at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 25 and from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, February 26. Funeral Services were held at Stigler First United Methodist Church at 10:00 am on Monday, February 27, 2023 with Rev. Dr. Jim Hill officiatin­g. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Stigler First United Methodist Church or the “Bobby Cariker Stigler High School Football Scholarshi­p” setup at the First National Bank of Stigler. Pallbearer­s included: Sam Rose, Jake Blankenshi­p, Kevin Cariker, Tony Castillo, Randy Mouser, Bobby Mouser.
