COLLISIONS

A fatality collision occurred on December 25, 2023, at about 8:50 p.m. US-70 about ½ a mile east of N 4040 Rd, and approximat­ely 1.4 miles east of Boswell in Choctaw County.

What happened, the conditions of both drivers and the cause of the collision are all still under investigat­ion. Vehicles involved: Vehicle-1: 2007 Ford Pickup, driven by Fernando Rodriguez-Ramirez, 24 of Johnson City, TX .

Ramirez was transporte­d by Choctaw County EMS and Bryan County EMS to Texoma Medical Center in Sherman TX., where he was admitted in critical condition with trunk and leg injuries.

Passenger of Vehicle 1: Humberto Rodriguez-Ramirez, 32 of Johnson City, TX., was transporte­d by AirEvac to Plano Medical Center in Plano, TX., where he was admitted in critical condition with back, trunk and leg injuries.

Vehicle 2: 2020 Toyota Camry, driven by Max Sides SR, 63 of Coleman, was pronounced deceased on scene by Choctaw County EMS.

Vehicle 2 Passenger-1: Vicki Sides, 55 of Coleman, was pronounced deceased on scene by Choctaw County EMS.

Vehicle 2 Passenger-2: Max Sides JR, 32 of Coleman, was pronounced deceased on scene by Choctaw County EMS.

Vehicle 2 Passenger-3: Kristina Mannor, 31 of Leesville, LA., was transporte­d by Choctaw County EMS to Hugo Airport where she was airlifted by MARC to St Francis in Tulsa, and then to St Johns in Tulsa. She was admitted in critical condition with head, trunk, and leg injuries.

Pinned: Passenger-3 of Vehicle-2 was pinned for about. 40 minutes before being extracted by Hugo Fire Department with jaws of life. Passenger-1 of Vehicle-1 was pinned for about 55 minutes before being extracted by Hugo Fire Department with jaws of life.

Seat belts were equipped in both vehicles and in use by all expect Passenger-2 and Passenger-3 of Vehicle-2. Airbags were equipped and deployed combinatio­n in both vehicles

This collision was investigat­ed by Trooper Darrell Wofford #740, of the Choctaw County detachment of Troop E. He was assisted by Trooper Josh Christian #807, Trooper Preston Moreland #321, Boswell Volunteer F.D., Soper Volunteer F.D.. Hugo F.D.. Choctaw County EMS, Choctaw County S. O., Hugo P.D., Choctaw Nation Tribal Police Department, Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, AirEvac and MARC.
