-

The 3rd Annual Don Baskin Classic Team Bass Tournament took place last Saturday, March 30, 2024, on McGee Creek Lake at the Buster Hights Ramp. The tournament kicked off at 7:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.

According to Eric Baskin, Tournament Director, there was a huge leap this year, as entries almost doubled from 2023. There were a total of 51 boats and 93 anglers that entered the tournament. The fish seemed to be biting well with 38 boats weighing in a full five fish stringer, and 43 boats managed to catch at least one fish.

“It was a great day of fishing and fun. The Don Baskin Classic would like to give the biggest thanks possible to everyone who participated in the tournament, donated, or helped in anyway. It is greatly appreciated and the tournament wouldn’t be possible without all of your help and support.” stated Eric. “We can not wait to do it again next year and we hope that everyone can make it back again for, hopefully, an even bigger and better Don Baskin Classic.”

During the 2024 Don Baskin Classic, there 205 fish weighed in, with a total weight of 290.01 lbs.

First Place this year, and a $2,000 cash prize and first place trophies, went to Kindel and Jennifer Holiman who won with a five fish stringer weighing 16.86 lbs. This duo also took home the Big Bass for the tournament weighing 7.06 lbs. They won $500 and received the big bass trophy.
