90, residing at Dream Catchers Assisted Living in Phoenix, AZ, was born to Eternal life, Monday, December 17, 2012. His immediate family and his Dream Catcher family were at his side. Woody was born July 8, 1922 in Sheboygan Wisconsin, the son of Arvin and Martha Juckem. He was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, teasingly known there as ’Lil Abner". In 1942 he entered the Army Air Force and became a Pilot. He served in WWII and the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Major. While serving in WWII, he met the love of his life, Wilma Mary Hayward, also of Sheboygan, WI. They married in 1945 and had three daughters, Kathryn, Leslie, and Margaret. Woody was a victim of the Polio epidemic of the 50’s. Overcoming a paralytic handicap he became an employee of Aetna Insurance for 18 yrs. He Joined the Robertson-Ryan Insurance Agency, Milwaukee, in 1964 as General Manager and eventually became President and Chairman of the Board. As a member of Christ King Church, he was active in Knights of Columbus. While residing near Waukesha, he and his wife were active members of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Genesee, WI. He was a gifted photograph­er, an avid reader and a great fisherman (musky and salmon), a hobby he loved to share with his grandchild­ren. He was preceded in death by his wife Wilma, his sister Elaine DeSombre. He is survived by his daughters Kathryn Mikkelsen (Guy), Leslie Juckem, Margaret VandeMoore, 11 grandchild­ren and 9 great-grandchild­ren. He is also survived by his dear brother Chuck, two nieces and two nephews. Services will be 12:00p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, Blessed Sacrament Church, 11300 North 64th St. Scottsdale, Az. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons to Phoenix Capernaum Young Life Ministries are requested. 107 E. Kathleen, Phoenix, Az. 85022 Phoenixcap­ernaum.younglife.org. Internment at Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan, Wisconsin in spring of 2013.
