age 80, of Chandler, Arizona, died Saturday, December 8th, 2012. He was born March 10th, 1932 at Emma L. Bixby Hospital in Adrian, Michigan to David and Ernestine (Scranton) Lackie. Richard was a 1950 graduate of Adrian High School. He attended Adrian College where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and graduated from the University of Toledo. He served six years in the U.S. Naval Reserves, including two years of active duty and was discharged as a Second Class Petty Officer. He was a Commercial Manager at WABJ radio and was the first General Manager of WLEN radio in Adrian. He was elected to three terms as a County Commission­er and was a District Representa­tive for Congressma­n David Stockman. He retired from Luce Press Clippings in Mesa, Arizona where he was an Account Representa­tive for 15 years. He served several terms on the vestry of Christ Episcopal Church in Adrian and was a charter member of St. James Episcopal Church in Tempe, Arizona and also a charter member of Living Faith Anglican Church in Tempe. He was a member of the Adrian Rotary Club and Past President of the Horizon Rotary Club of Chandler, Arizona. He was a Paul Harris Fellow. On April 4th, 1959 he married Beverly J. Garrison in Adrian. He moved with his family to Chandler, Arizona in 1981. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, his children: daughter, Karen Watson and her husband Michael of Mesa, Arizona; son, John Lackie and his wife Wendy (Mort) of Chandler; daughter Joanne Benschoter and her husband Glen of Chandler; two granddaugh­ters, Amanda, and Sarah and finance Josh Hopper, and one great grandson, Logan. He is preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 5th, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Living Faith Anglican Church at 1945 E Guadalupe Rd, Tempe, Arizona with Dr. Rev. M. Keith Andrews officiatin­g. In lieu of flowers , memorial contributi­ons can be made to the Living Faith Anglican Church Memorial Garden Fund.
