Dean Allen Munsey, retired Senior Master Sergeant USAF passed away on December 16, 2012 with his wife at his side at the age of 83, from complicati­ons of cancer. He was born on March 28, 1929 in Burlington, Colorado. He served his country in the US Marine Corps from 1947-1950 and the US Air Force from 1952-1969. He was awarded The Air Force Commendati­on medal, The National Defense medal, The Good Conduct medal, The Longevity Service Award. He served with honor and dignity. Dean is survived by his wife Jean and sons Paul Munsey (Jacky) and David Munsey: Grandchild­ren Susan Freestone (Toby), Robert Maushund (Elissa), Heather Graham (William) and great grandchild­ren Austin Maushund, Nicki Durfee, William Graham Jr. and Joshua Graham; Sister Ginger Stewert and brother Connie Ray Munsey (Joan), predecease­d by brothers Clark, Dale (His twin) and David. Dean was truly loved and respected by all who were fortunate to have known him. He greatly influenced us all with wisdom, humor and love. A memorial service will be held on Friday December 28, 2012 at 12 noon at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix AZ. VA interment service will follow immediatel­y after at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix AZ. Pastor Jim Hiatt will officiate at the memorial service.
