Godfrey, Edith Odessa

Edith was born on March 26, 1908 in Tennessee. She passed from this life on December 9, 2012, at the age of 104. She was the oldest resident at The Beatitudes Campus of Care in Phoenix. Her husband, Harold, preceded her in death. Edith and Harold had no children; however, 5 nieces and nephews remain along with a number of great nieces and nephews. She came to AZ on the train when she was about 12 yrs. old. After graduation from Phoenix Union High School, most of her life was spent in the retail business including running the grocery store that the Godfreys had purchased. Her big love was volunteering at John C Lincoln hospital in the gift shop. At one time she was President of the Auxillary. Services for Edith will be Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at 10 A.M. Greenwood Memory Lawn Encanto Mausoleum, 2300 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix. Additional information at greenwoodmemorylawn.com
