— Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 12 of his 25 points in the first five minutes of the second half and the Bulldogs (4-7) beat the Trojans (4-8). Omar Oraby finished with 14 points for Southern Cal, which has lost 13 straight on the road.

Caldwell-Pope’s jumper on the first possession of the second half made it 29-28 and gave the Bulldogs their first lead of the game. Georgia never trailed again.

The struggles that USC endured last season aren’t getting any easier for coach Kevin O’Neill. With a 10-34 record since the start of 2011-12, O’Neill is trying to keep an upbeat approach.

Oregon State 86, San Diego 79: — Eric Moreland and Roberto Nelson scored 20 points apiece as the Beavers (9-2) beat the Toreros (6-7) in the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic.

Moreland, who was 7 of 8 from the field, led with 11 rebounds. Nelson was 5 of 10 from the field.

Devon Collier scored 18 points, and Joe Burton had 13 for Oregon State.

The Beavers shot 59 percent from the field for the game and led 44-29 at halftime.

California 85, Prairie View A&M 53: — Allen Crabbe broke out of his brief shooting slump with 23 points, Richard Solomon had a career-high 18 points and nine rebounds and the Golden Bears (8-3) beat the Panthers (5-7).

Justin Cobbs added 14 points for California, which has won two straight after a seasonworst three-game losing streak.

The Bears dominated in just about every facet. They out-rebounded the Panthers 45-25, converted 22 of 29 free throw attempts and held a 38-24 advantage in the paint.

Washington 67, Northern Illinois 57: — C.J. Wilcox scored 22 points to lead the Huskies (8-4) over Northern Illinois (2-9). Wilcox topped the 20-point mark for the seventh time in eight games.

Troubled by inconsistent play during the nonconference portion of its schedule, Washington has now won four straight games.
