Phoenix IT firm joins Konica Minolta group

Adivision of Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA Inc. has purchased a Phoenix-based informationtechnology firm for an undisclosed sum, the companies said Thursday.

InterTech Computer Products, based in Phoenix, has about 50 employees and provides technology solutions to businesses in Western states including Arizona and Nevada.

InterTech will become part of All Covered, a division of the Tokyo-based Konica Minol- ta’s U.S. business-solutions arm.

The acquisition is part of a larger effort by All Covered to buy up regional IT-solutions firms across the U.S., according to a Konica Minolta news release.

“In the last two years, we have expanded our footprint

TECHNOLOGY by adding 12 regional IT-services companies in key geographic areas,” All Covered President Todd Croteau said. “InterTech is our largest acquisition to date and provides us with additional resources and more than 50 new employees to support our growing client base in the West.”

With offices in Phoenix and Las Vegas, InterTech is one of the leading technology-solution providers for businesses in the country, the news release said.

InterTech helps companies design, implement, deploy, service, support and manage their network, security, wireless and communications infrastructures.

Its purpose is to help companies use network technologies such as voice-over-IP and virtualization to reduce costs, improve performance and solve business-technology issues, according to InterTech.

The company operates a remote network-management and -monitoring center in Phoenix for its commercial clients.

InterTech President and CEO Michael Novotny said the merger with Konica Minolta was a good fit in terms of the companies’ shared vision and corporate culture and that InterTech customers will benefit from new products and services.

“More importantly, we can provide our employees with new growth opportunities,” Novotny said.
