Texas A&M falls to Auburn More Southwest

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Nick Marshall accounted for four scores and No. 24 Auburn battered Johnny Manziel in a 45-41win over No. 7 Texas A&M on Saturday.

Tre Mason’s 5-yard score with less than two minutes to play was first placed at the1, but it was reviewed and ruled a touchdown.

A&M(5-2, 2-2 SEC) had a last chance, but Manziel, the Heisman Trophy winner, was sacked by Dee Ford on fourth down to secure the win.

Manziel threw for 454 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a fifth score, but was intercepte­d twice. He missed a series in the fourth quarter with an apparent injury to his right arm or shoulder. He returned but was constantly moving his right arm.

Marshall threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 100 yards and two more scores for Auburn (6-1, 3-1), which lost 63-21 to the Aggies last season.

Texas A&M’s Mike Evans had a school-record 287 yards receiving with four touchdowns to become the first player in school history to have two 200yard receiving games in a career. He scored on receptions of 26, 64, 42 and 33 yards.

Manziel was injured when he was tackled on an 8-yard run early in the fourth quarter.

He got up after the tackle and then went to the ground before he reached the A&M sideline. A&M officials looked at him for a couple of minutes on the turf before he got up and walked off on his own power.

He was replaced by Matt Joeckel, who threw an incomplete pass on third down, and A&M settled for a 20-yard field goal to push the lead to 34-24.

In a game with offensive fireworks, Taysom Hill hit Cameron Ridley for an 11-yard touchdown pass for BYU (5-2) to claim a 47-46 comeback road win over host Houston (5-1). Hill led BYU 41yards to the winning touchdown and Alani Fua iced the game, intercepti­ng John O’Korn to end Houston’s hopes.

Maty Mauk threw for 295 yards in his first career start and Andrew Baggett converted five field goals to help host No. 14 Missouri (7-0, 3-0) defeat No. 22 Florida 36-17 in Columbia and open a two-game lead in the SEC East Division. ... Jerron Seymour ran for a 13-yard touchdown with 2:53 left, and Vander- bilt (4-3, 1-3) rallied from a 13point deficit by scoring 17 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to upset No. 15 Georgia (4-3, 3-2) 31-27 in Nashville.

Midwest

Carlos Hyde ran for 149 yards, including 106 yards and two touchdowns in the second half, to lead host No. 4 Ohio State to a 34-24 victory over Iowa in Columbus. ... Blake Bell threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns, and No.18 Oklahoma (6-1, 3-1 Big 12) finally awoke from its Red River rout hangover to beat lowly host Kansas (2-4, 0-3) 34-19 in Lawrence. ... Terrance Owens tossed a 20-yard touchdown pass in the second overtime against Navy and Jeremiah Detmer kicked the extra point to give Toledo (4-3) a 45-44 victory over Navy. ... Davis Webb threw two touchdown passes and No. 16 Texas Tech (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to beat host West Virginia (3-4, 1-3) 37-27 in Morgantown. ...
