» Phoenix South Mountain ended a 30-game losing streak, beating Apache Junction 26-13, as Drevonne Dodd ran for two touchdowns and Antwaun Ware ran for another in a Div. III game.

» Top-ranked (Div. I) Phoenix Mountain Pointe scored every time it had the ball and cruised to a 63-0 homecoming win over Tempe Corona del Sol, as Jalen Brown caught four passes for 137 yards and three touchdowns.

» Goodyear Desert Edge WR Elijah Marks is within 400 yards of the single-season state receiving record of 1,760, after catching seven more passes for 102 yards and a touchdown in top-ranked (Div. III) Desert Edge’s 48-8 homecoming win over Phoenix Sierra Linda. Marks has 1,364 yards and 18 touchdowns on 67 catches in eight games.

» WR Cameron Denson ran four times for 107 yards and a touchdown and caught a 32-yard scoring pass in No. l (Div. II) Tucson Salpointe Catholic’s 51-0 win over Casa Grande Vista Grande. Salpointe (8-0) has shut out its past two opponents and has not allowed a team to score more than a touchdown this season.

» WR Darius Aguirre had 170 all-purpose yards, including touchdown runs of 53 and 59 yards, helping Div. III Peoria improve to 8-0 with a 48-13 victory over Phoenix Barry Goldwater.

» Josh Eckley threw for a touchdown and had scoring runs of 55 and 32 in Tempe Marcos de Niza’s 37-13 Div. II win over Mesa Westwood.

» Sammy Sasso threw four touchdown passes, two to sophomore Kyeler Burke, and CB Levi Sterling returned an intercepti­on 45 yards for a score in Hamilton’s 42-0 Div. I rout of Gilbert.

» Mesa Mountain View QB John Clark and WR Clark Brown are taking full advantage of Chad DeGre- nier’s pass-happy offense. They connected 11 times for 240 yards and three touchdowns. Clark passed for more than 400 yards in the game. Brown now has 1,150 yards receiving, the most in a season in school history.

» QB Heath Motes ran for 123 yards and three touchdowns and Garett Bryce added two scoring runs, powering top-ranked (Div. V) Thatcher to a 40-7 win over rival Willcox.

» RB Carter Rodriguez’s 60-yard catch-and-run touchdown midway through the final quarter helped host Yuma Catholic (6-1) put away Phoenix Bourgade (7-1) 21-10 in a Div. V game. Rodriguez also ran for 162 yards on eight carries. Saul Rascon led Bourgade with 154 rushing yards on 28 carries.

» Snowflake (7-1) scored 22 points in the opening quarter and rolled to a 57-20 win over Payson in a Div. IV game. Sophomore Wyatt Chapman had 200 rushing yards on 30 carries for Payson.

» Kyle Johnson passed for five touchdowns and Seton Catholic won its fifth in a row, beating San Tan Valley Combs 56-21. Seton scored 42 points in the first half of the Div. IV game. Johnson completed 20 of his 23 passes for 239 yards.

» Top-ranked (Div. VI) Pima shut down Winkelman Hayden 66-6.

» A week after throwing more touchdown passes (10) in a game than any player in Arizona high school football history at any level, Gilbert Christian’s Bailey Anderson settled for throwing just two touchdown passes in a 54-0 rout of Gila Bend in an eight-man Div. VI game that improved section champion Gilbert Christian to 9-0.
