Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Britain’s renowned National Theatre with a simulcast of the star-studded gala, hosted by playwright/director Nicholas Hytner (“The History Boys”). A bevy of award-winning actors, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Judi Dench, Christopher Eccleston and Maggie Smith will reprise scenes from iconic plays, from “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead” to “Antony and Cleopatra.” The show will also include exclusive behind-the-scenes looks at some of the historic performances from the iconic theatre. Director Megumi Sasaki’s second documentary about Herb and Dorothy Vogel, unlikely art collectors, follows the couple’s donation of 50 works of art, one to a museum in each state. ‘BEYOND FORM’ This documentary honoring artist Paolo Soleri will be shown in the Cave Creek Museum’s historic church. It’s part of the Desert Foothills Library’s Arizona Filmmakers Speak: Sip Wine and Savor Stories series.
