Leopold James Cimini, 86, of Gilbert, AZ passed away February 18, 2014 in Tempe, AZ. Leopold was born in New York City on March 15, 1927 to Peter and Susan Cimini. He graduated St. Joseph Seraphir Seminary School in 1948 and continued his education at St. Bonaventur­e University in New York where he earned his BA degree in 1951. He left seminary life and served in the Korean War stationed in Germany. He met his wife Joan Dolan and they were married for just under 40 years when she died suddenly after a brief illness. He will be most remembered for his humor and limitless good nature. His self sacrificin­g attitude and devotion to his family were the driving forces in his life, and the attributes most imparted to his children. He was most happy when he had his children and grandchild­ren around him making pasta and laughing in the kitchen. He also found joy in his garden and playing golf with friends. He is survived Maureen (David) Cadwell of Gilbert, Ellen (James) Kirchman of Scottsdale, Christophe­r (Nina) Cimini of Scottsdale, 3 granchildr­en, Natalie and Lauren Cadwell of Gilbert, Christophe­r Kirchman of Scottsdale. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 25, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W Juniper Ave, Gilbert, AZ Recitation of the Rosary will be held on that same evening at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday February 26, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St Anne Catholic Church 440 E Elliot Rd, Gilbert AZ, Interment will be at 2:00Pm following the Mass at the National Memorial Cemetery of AZ in Phoenix.
