Hutchison, Mathilde "Till"

85, of Sun City West, Arizona passed away on February 17, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born on July 22, 1928 in Bisbee, Arizona and spent her formative years there until she went to college at the University of Arizona. While at the U of A she was a member of Gamma Phi Sorority, graduated with a teaching degree and met her husband of 38 years, E. Lee Hutchison. She taught school in Phoenix, Arizona before marrying Lee and thereafter settled in Flagstaff, Arizona where they raised four children. During this time, she was very involved with the community as an active member of the Republican Women’s Committee and PEO. Always being an individual who valued higher education, she went back to Northern Arizona University and obtained a Master’s Degree in Library Science. She worked in the public school system as a substitute librarian before her and Lee’s retirement to Lake Montezuma, Arizona. Lee died in 1988. Several years later, Till married George Bell. They thoroughly enjoyed their retirement year’s together, enjoying travel, family and their beloved dogs. Till took up painting in her later years and had many accomplish­ed pieces of art that are displayed and enjoyed by family and friends today. Till was a very bright, charming, generous, organized and fun loving woman who enjoyed card games, mai jong and the Phoenix Suns. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters Laura (Jeff) Lawrence of Surprise, Emily (Pete) Hathaway of Scottsdale, and her sons, Chris (Maggie) of Gold Canyon and Tim (Jane) Hutchison of Loveland, Colorado; 9 grandchild­ren, 10 great grandchild­ren and her siblings Adele Wagner, Alfred French and Ellen "Tuck" McMinn. She was preceded in death by her husband’s Lee Hutchison and George Bell and both of her parents, Harry and Laura French. A memorial service will be held March 3rd at 11 am at the Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel at 13738 W. Camino De Sol, Sun City West, Arizona.
