85, passed on to eternal life February 19th, 2014. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 2nd 1928 along with her twin sister Barbara. Betty married Donald M. Seger on April 30th 1949. In 1955, Betty, Don, Gail and Don Jr. moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Betty worked for Motorola for 20 years as a Certified Profession­al Secretary and Customer Service Representa­tive. After 59 years of marriage, Don went to be with the Lord in 2008. Betty always approached any trial or challenge with determinat­ion and a smile. Betty obtained her strength from her unfailing faith in Jesus Christ. One of her most quoted scriptures was: Philippian­s 4:6-7 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplicati­on, with thanksgivi­ng, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understand­ing, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Betty was predecease­d by her parents William and Nellie Champness, and her siblings William Jr., Robert, Eleanor, Audrey, Lillian and Barbara. Betty is survived by her children: Gail Lindsey, Don Seger Jr., Mary Young, James Seger and Angie Jones, 11 grandchild­ren, 4 great-grandchild­ren and 2 great-great grandchild­ren. Services will be held Tuesday, February 25th, 2014, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, 3424 N. 18th Ave., Phoenix, AZ, 85015, (602) 2644488. Viewing at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024
