Seger, Betty Lucille

85, passed on to eternal life February 19th, 2014. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 2nd 1928 along with her twin sister Barbara. Betty married Donald M. Seger on April 30th 1949. In 1955, Betty, Don, Gail and Don Jr. moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Betty worked for Motorola for 20 years as a Certified Professional Secretary and Customer Service Representative. After 59 years of marriage, Don went to be with the Lord in 2008. Betty always approached any trial or challenge with determination and a smile. Betty obtained her strength from her unfailing faith in Jesus Christ. One of her most quoted scriptures was: Philippians 4:6-7 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Betty was predeceased by her parents William and Nellie Champness, and her siblings William Jr., Robert, Eleanor, Audrey, Lillian and Barbara. Betty is survived by her children: Gail Lindsey, Don Seger Jr., Mary Young, James Seger and Angie Jones, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday, February 25th, 2014, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, 3424 N. 18th Ave., Phoenix, AZ, 85015, (602) 2644488. Viewing at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024
