K-9 Kyo as good as gold

-

Kyo has many wonderful traits, from his loving nature to knowing the proper spot to relieve himself.

But genetics has handed him a rare gift. Kyo’s coat is short and sturdy, thus any shedding is almost imperceptible.

That’s right, you won’t find pet hair clogging your vacuum when you clean. The 4-year-old whippet mix won’t leave fur-trails on your clothes, nor will he feed the dust bunnies lurking under your bed.

Kyo also knows his place, and it is usually curled at your feet. He stays off the furniture and keeps his paws to himself.

He’s also very affectionate. Kyo will follow you around the house if he’s not napping, hoping for a belly rub or perhaps a scratch of the neck.

He’s mastered the basic commands, and even sits stiff and upright as if a soldier at attention. Kyo’s goofy side emerges when he plays, happy to chase toys and balls thrown across the yard.

Is he the perfect dog? Probably not. But in Olympic terms, he’s a gold medalist.

Kyo was surrendered by an owner who was moving and could not take his companion along. The dog didn’t do well in the shelter, so he is waiting patiently in a foster home.

He is very submissive with other dogs and if he must live with one, he’d prefer one as easygoing as he is. Cats are good for one thing — chasing.

To set up a meet-andgreet with Kyo, 602-9977585, ext. 2045. His adoption fee is only $35, including his neuter surgery and vaccines.
