Freeway-improvement projects will require closures or lane restrictions this weekend. Freeway work often occurs overnight. The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers consider alternate routes or give themselves extra travel time while the following restrictions are in place: » Loop 101/Bethany Home Road and Glendale Avenue Closure: Northbound Loop 101 closed overnight between Bethany Home Road and Glendale Avenue from 10 tonight to 9 a.m. Saturday and from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for lane striping and other work on the HOV-lane ramps project at the Maryland Avenue bridge in Glendale. Southbound Loop 101 closed between Glendale Avenue and Bethany Home Road from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday Detour: Consider alternate routes. Freeway traffic will detour along 91st Avenue. » Grand Avenue (U.S. 60)/Northern Avenue Closure: Grand Avenue (U.S. 60) intersection with Northern Avenue closed from 10 tonight to 5 a.m. Monday for paving. Detour: Consider alternate routes to avoid delays. Southeast-bound Grand Avenue traffic can use southbound 75th Avenue to eastbound Bethany Home Road. Northwest-bound Grand Avenue traffic can use northbound 59th Avenue to westbound Peoria Avenue. » U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway)/Mesa Drive closed Closure: Eastbound U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) on- and offramps at Mesa Drive closed from 4 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday for resurfacing. Mesa Drive also narrowed between U.S. 60 and Auto Center Drive. Detour: Consider alternate routes to avoid delays. Eastbound U.S. 60 ramps at Country Club Drive or Stapley Drive will be open. » Scottsdale Road/Loop 101 in north Scottsdale Closure: Northbound Scottsdale Road left-turn lanes at Loop 101 in north Scottsdale partially closed from 4 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday for pavement repairs. Left turns to the westbound Loop 101 on-ramp still allowed, but heavy traffic and delays are possible. Detour: Please consider alternate routes, including westbound Bell Road to northbound 56th Street to access westbound Loop 101.
