The Cardinals hit each other for the first time on Monday, and the intensity of the workout was reflected in the lengthy injury report Tuesday.

Center Lyle Sendlein (left calf) is the only player who will miss extended time, but several other players were sidelined Tuesday with bumps, bruises, strains, etc.

Sendlein is expected to miss about three weeks and to return before the end of the preseason.

In the meantime, Ted Larsen will replace Sendlein, the starter for the past six years. Larsen was signed in free agency this offseason and was expected to compete for the starting right-guard position, as well as back up Sendlein.

Larsen spent the past four seasons with the Buccaneers, starting 31 of 60 games. He started at center twice in 2013 and nine times in 2012.

Sendlein is the steadying force on a unit that will feature at three new starters.

“Lyle’s an integral a part of this offense as anybody is,” quarterback Carson Palmer said.

“He’s very, very underrated, been a very good player for a long time. Really, really smart; very, very poised; helps everybody around him. So when you lose that guy, it’s obviously a blow but a great opportunity. Ted was playing right guard, left guard, center. Now, he’s finally getting real reps at center.”

Cornerback Antonio Cromartie (pectoral) is expected to miss four to five days. Running back Andre Ellington (neck) missed Tuesday’s practice but is expected back soon. Others on the injury report are linebacker Ernie Sims (back spasms), nose tackle Christian Tupou (groin) and cornerback Todd Washington (groin).

Nose tackle Dan Williams remains out because of swelling in his left knee.
