Tuesday

Crude oil climbed above $60 a barrel, raising expectatio­ns for rising inflation and interest rates. Dow: Down 142.20 to 17,928.20. S&P: Down 25.03 to 2,089.46. Nasdaq: Down 77.60 to 4,939.33.

Wednesday

Investors worried over stock valuations, economic growth and rising interest rates. Dow: Down 86.22 to 17,841.98. S&P: Down 9.31 to 2,080.15. Nasdaq: Down 19.68 to 4,919.64.

Thursday

Stocks rose moderately in relatively quiet trading, a contrast to the heavy selling that occurred a day earlier. Dow: Up 82.08 to 17,924.06. S&P: Up 7.85 to 2,088. Nasdaq: Up 25.90 to 4,945.54.
