Cosmopolitan, Casino Royale take bets at new sports books
Following the opening of the revamped SuperBook at Westgate Las Vegas, two new books have opened — one at Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and the other at Casino Royale.
The Cosmopolitan’s rates right up there with the best in town, with the big space on the main floor featuring stateof-the-art LED video-wall screens; multiple high-def TVs; lounge seating; private VIP viewing areas; a new 24hour bar with food service; plus shuffleboard, foosball, billiards and a sports-themed table-games pit offering blackjack and roulette.
By contrast, Casino Royale’s sports book is just a new bar with a satellite book attached. The BarBook consists of a single counter with two betting stations from William Hill — no big betting boards or viewing screens. The good news is that the new bar has retained its excellent beer deal: Michelob in the bottle is just $1.
“Jubilee!” closes: After 34 years at Bally’s, the production show “Jubilee!” took its final bow last week. Although there have been vague murmurings of a possible reincarnation, it’s likely the closing marks the end of the run for the showgirl spectacular.
Kids meal: A rare deal for kids is available at Palace Station. On Wednesdays in Little Tony’s, buy a pizza or entrée and kids 12 and younger eat free from a special kids menu.
Ticket deal: Million Dollar Quartet at Harrah’s has just announced a good deal. Get two tickets for the 5:30 p.m. performance on Thursdays for $60 by using code 2460 when ordering at the box office, by phone or online.
