Fox broadcaster accused of tirade

Todd Walsh, a longtime Arizona sports broadcaster, wasn’t part of the team covering the Arizona Coyotes game on Saturday night amid allegations from a woman that he launched into a racially-tinged tirade after a minor automobile scrape.

Fox Sports Arizona, the network that employs Walsh, said it was investigating the incident. His absence was not addressed on the broadcast, and Walsh declined to comment Saturday when he was reached by phone.

Krys Poleon, of Phoenix, said in a Facebook post on Wednesday that she “barely clipped” a side mirror on Walsh’s car while parallel parking her truck outside the Arizona Center in downtown Phoenix, where the Fox Sports Arizona offices are located.

Poleon said Walsh was in the car and on the phone when she went to tell him what happened. After he got out and inspected the mirror, she said, Walsh “begins to chest bump me and tell me I need to learn how to drive.”

Poleon included what she said were quotes from Walsh, insulting her driving ability because of her race and her gender.

According to Poleon’s account, she called 911 and Walsh continued to shout insults at her.

However, the recording of the 911 call does not contain any shouting by Walsh, Phoenix police said.

Walsh eventually sped off, she wrote. But not before she took a picture.
