Find out where to feast, drink and wear the green on Friday.

St. Patrick’s Day is on a Friday this year. So, you won’t have to go home early or call in sick in the morning (not that you would do that, of course).

Many pubs, and a few other bars, are hosting big St. Paddy’s Day bashes filled with green beer and Irish whiskey, Celtic bands and all the corned beef and cabbage you can eat.

Here’s our list of 2017 St. Patrick’s Day bashes around metro Phoenix:

Shamrock Fest

The downtown Chandler pub Murphy’s Law hosts this outdoor festival at Dr. AJ Chandler Park. Entertainm­ent will be provided by Volatile Minds, 2 Tone Lizard Kings, Retro Connection, Radiofix and August in Stereo. Activities include stein-holding, costume and Lucky Charms eating contests, beer and lawn games, and cabbage bowling. The bar is running a promotion on the event website offering two tickets for $10 for a limited time.

Rosie McCaffrey’s Irish Restaurant and Pub

The popular Phoenix pub might win the earliest opening time for a St. Patrick’s Day party, at 6 a.m. Beth & Friends from 99.9 KEZ will be broadcasti­ng live, and an Irish coffee might be an order. Music starts at 11 a.m. with the Brazen Heads, followed by Arizona Seanachie and ending with the Whiskey Rats. Proceeds will benefit the United Phoenix Firefighte­rs Emerald Society.

McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon

Get to the Westgate Entertainm­ent District pub early for the kegs and eggs breakfast, featuring corned beef and cabbage and shepherd’s pie. During the day, the party is family-friendly with face painting, a balloon artist, games and music from the Arizona Fire Service Pipe Band. From 6 to 9 p.m., enjoy Lucky Hour discounts on green beer and Irish whiskey. The late-night bash will feature rotating DJs, McFadden’s Lucky Charms on the bar and more.

St. Paddy’s Day Street Faire

Seamus McCaffrey’s annual party will take place in the bar and outside on Monroe Street in downtown Phoenix. The bash features live music from Seanachie, Saints of Eirinn and Traveler, traditiona­l Irish fare and a beer garden. All proceeds will go to the United Phoenix Firefighte­rs Emerald Society.

Fibber Magees Irish Pub

The Chandler pub is celebratin­g with the Big Fellahs on March 16. On St. Patrick’s Day, the pub hosts a block party, with music starting at 11:30 a.m. featuring Wide Awake, the Brazen Heads and Cockswain. The fun continues on March 18 with Saints of Eirinn.

Skeptical Chymist

This north Scottsdale Irish pub hosts multiple days of entertainm­ent. Chad Bailey will be on stage on March 16. On St. Patrick’s Day, the lineup features the Spirited Lads, the Brazen Heads and Lenny Kelleher.

RT O’Sullivan’s Sports Grill

The longtime Irish pub will host a bash featuring bagpipers, Irish step dancers and an Irish fiddler duo. The bar will server “monster-sized” green beers, and food options include corned beef and cabbage, Reuben sandwiches and shepherd’s pie. Dueling piano performers will play from 7 to 11 p.m.

Irish Wolfhound Restaurant and Pub

This West Valley bar will feature music all day long on St. Patrick’s Day. The celebratio­n will start with the Spirited Lads, followed by Kilted Spirit, then Cheek Tones, Faded Jeans, and closing out the night will be Trip Wire.

Tim Finnegan’s Irish Restaurant & Bar

This north Phoenix bar opens at 9 a.m. for Irish breakfast and will feature music from bands all day, and performanc­es from bag pipe musicians and step dancers.

Rula Bula

The St. Patrick’s Day celebratio­n at the Mill Avenue pub starts with performanc­es by the Tempe Town Lake Pipe Band, McTeggart Irish Dancers. Music begins at 3 p.m. with Trevor Jones and Tommy Rocker, followed by a Guinness toast to Pat Tillman, and then Whiskey Tango will close out the night. The festival also includes Guinness, Bushmills, Jameson and Tullamore Dew promotions.

The Dubliner

The north Phoenix pub starts with Irish coffees and Irish breakfast sandwiches in the morning. There will be live bands all day: Trotters Wake, Traveler, Spirited Lads and Generation Cover. Irish dancers and bag pipe performers will also be at the bar, and beer and liquor promotions will happen throughout the day.

Lustre Rooftop Bar

Celebrate St. Paddy’s Day poolside at the Hotel Palomar in downtown Phoenix. Sip on green beer and cocktails, including ones made with Hell-Cat Maggie Irish whiskey, and enjoy Irish dishes. Kelly’s at Southbridg­e

The Scottsdale gastropub will serve traditiona­l Irish dishes for St. Patrick’s Day, as well as green beer. Live music will be provided by Elvis Before Noon and Sassy and the Sneak Attack.

Tilted Kilt Tempe

The Tempe location of this sports bar chain is hosting its annual Big Irish Party, taking place in the restaurant and outdoors. The live music lineup includes Valley Vibes, Carvin Jones and Tommy Price & the Stilettos. Four bars will serve green beer, whiskey and Irish coffees. The Irish Hooley menu includes corned beef hash and eggs, and corned beef and cabbage. Each guest will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of 100 steins filled with prizes.

Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill

All three Thirsty Lion locations are offering a special St. Patrick’s Day menu through March 19, with items including bacon cheddar potato cakes, scotch eggs and an Irish beer flight. The restaurant­s will also be collecting donations all month to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to help fight childhood cancer. The Tempe location will host a head-shaving fundraiser on March 11 to benefit St. Baldrick’s, a childhood-cancer organizati­on. Visitors can opt to shave their heads or make a donation.

Padre Murphy’s

This 24th annual event features a full day of music, including performanc­es by Status, Michael Patrick Gallagher Dancers and the Mesa Caledonia Pipe Band. Dine on corned beef and cabbage and enjoy green drinks. Leprechaun­s, face painters and clowns will be at the bar from 2 to 5 p.m. when it’s family-friendly, then it will turn into a 21 and older venue after.

If you’re looking for a different atmosphere, head to one of the Sandbar locations for St. Patrick’s Day. Drink specials include $3 green beer, $5 Shamrock-aritas and baby Guinness beers, and $6 Irish Car Bombs. Corned beef and cabbage tacos will be served all day. Live bands and DJs will start performing at 5 p.m. And if you’re out on Thursday night, the bartenders will tap the green beer kegs at midnight.

The Rose & Crown Pub

After more than two months without a liquor license, this popular downtown Phoenix pub is back and ready to party. They’ll host a St. Patrick’s Day block party with tasty food such as scotch eggs, Shepherd’s pie and fish and chips, plenty of beer and live music.
