azcentral.com is looking for high school student-athletes who are committed to getting kids active in their community, because the reality is that fewer and fewer kids today have the opportunity to experience the benefits of positive youth sports and physical activity.

We invited community members to nominate students doing something to get kids active, and we’ll award one student with the I Am Sport Award.

Nominees with the most votes will be invited to attend the azcentral.com Sports Awards to find out if they won, connect with other local nominees, and celebrate the first I Am Sport Award.

Voting ends March 30. Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald will be the guest speaker at the azcentral.com Sports Awards on April 30 at ASU Gammage. ¶ General admission tickets can be purchased at sportsawards.azcentral.com.
