Disclosure a start — now can we talk about timing?
Utility giant APS announced it’ll continue to participate in political campaigns but will start reporting financial contributions — this after getting pummeled over its “dark money” in elections. The criticism has never been about rights to exercise its political voice, but disclosure. The public-good pledge seems more a poke in the eye of critics. The annual disclosure would come in March, meaning voters are in the dark till well past election. Talk about an interruption of service.
