89, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on March 25, 2017. longtime resident of Phoenix, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at her home with her family at her side. Born in 1927 in Brawley, California, the daughter of W.V. and Evelyn Ammons and graduated from the University of Arizona where she met her husband. She was an avid golfer and was key in the promoting the love of golf within many of her grandchild­ren. She also loved playing bridge and Hand and Foot with her group of friends. Ann had a zest for life which extended deep into the community. She was a continual positive influence to all that she touched. Ann had a successful career beginning with real estate then in the Adult Aging field. She was instrument­al in developing the first group housing for the elderly, Senior Village, which allowed many seniors to live out their remaining senior years in a positive as well as interactiv­e social setting. Ann, the wife of Eugene Pierson (deceased), mother of Penny Pierson (deceased), survived by Patrick (Sharon), Tim (Former Spouse Lisa PickettPie­rson), and John (Ann), and Suzie Pierson McCullough (Harold). The Grandchild­ren that she so dearly loved include: Kaitlyn, Lisa Jo, Alex, Jaime, Jordan, Sean, Michael, Shannon, Kathryn, and Kiley, and her great grandchild, Beckett as well as well as many close friends. A memorial service shall be held in Leisure World of Mesa in the Club room on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Penelope A. Pierson scholarshi­p fund at Mesa Community College.
