Mercury star Taurasi marries former player Taylor

Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi married former Mercury player Penny Taylor, now the team’s director of player developmen­t, on Saturday. The ceremony was held a day before the Mercury began their 21st season Sunday.

Taurasi, 34, is one of the most prominent players in women’s basketball and this season is expected to become the WNBA career scoring leader.

The Australian Taylor, 36, also played on the Mercury’s three championsh­ips teams and won two Olympic silver medals. She retired as a player after the 2016 season. Taylor previously was married for three years to Rodrigo Gil, a Brazilian beach volleyball player.

Yanks’ Chapman to miss at least month with shoulder injury

Unable to pitch through likely will miss at least a month.
