Perry rallies for family after fire

Alex Edjourian still is in a dream-like state four days after losing his home in a fire. “It still doesn’t feel real to him,” Perry coach Preston Jones said. Perry’s football community has rallied around Edjourian’s family of five as they adjust after Sunday’s fire left them without a home. The family lost all of their possessions and their five-bedroom home that they had built 15 years ago. The Perry High School Touchdown Club posted on Facebook on Tuesday: “Good morning Puma Nation, “One of our Puma families has recently experienced a significant tragedy. Alex Edjourian and his family lost their home on Sunday when it burned down. Thankfully all family members were able to get out safely and without harm but they have lost everything! “So knowing how awesome our Puma family is - I am reaching out to all of you on their behalf to do what we do in supporting each other as a family. “They need everything - so please if you can help in anyway, we will begin collecting anything you can help with - personal hygiene items, food, gift cards, shoes, dishes, towels, bedding - anything! I will continue to work with Nevart to get details on what they need as they go along, but wanted everyone to start thinking of what they could help with - I know there are some extreme couponers out there that may have excess of personal hygiene stuff and groceries which would be super helpful. “Sounds like as of now the insurance is putting them up in a hotel until a furnished house becomes available to live in while they wait for their home to be rebuilt. They have been able to get some clothing, but still in need of personal hygiene items, food and as they get ready to move in to another place will need things to start over with. “I will be at the freshman home game on wednesday, and at school thursday for the military dinner and obviously at the game Friday -so whatever you can help with please make arrangements to get to me - I know easiest things for most would be gift cards and I would choose the local grocery stores, and places that have variety of things like walmart and target. Any other specifics that come up - I will let you guys know and as always prayers and kind thoughts/words are free and always appreciated! “Thanks in advance Puma Nation! “Please contact Becky.james@phsfb.com to donate or for any questions.”
