Sugar is just as sweet as her name suggests, and this Siamese will quickly captivate your heart with her bright blue eyes, affectionate personality and rumbling purr.
Found as a stray, the 6-year-old feline was not only suffering from anemia, starvation, and dehydration, but she was also partially crippled in her back legs and had a life-threatening infection in her uterus.
Had she not ended up at the Arizona Humane Society, Sugar would have been facing a grim future.
A highly-skilled team of veterinarians in the Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital performed pyometra surgery to remove the infection from Sugar’s uterus and the cat made a wonderful recovery in a foster home.
Despite her wonderful recovery, Sugar’s back legs will always be a bit weak. Although Sugar may not be able to perch solely on her back legs, this resilient and adaptable cat can hop around and play with toys, follow her favorite person around the house like a dog, and clamber up onto your bed to sleep with you at night.
Sugar maneuvers well in a litter box, however she’ll need special medication for urinary incontinence for the remainder of her life.
She’s happiest, and purrs the loudest, when you hold her close, kiss her forehead, or rub her ears.
Although she’s never lived with other pets or kids, she’s extremely laidback and mellow. She’d likely learn to co-exist with another calm household pet and/or appreciate the company of older kids who handle her with care.
Sugar’s adoption fee has been waived in exchange for a good home with someone who will provide her with the care she needs. She has already been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
