Beloved husband of M. Magaly (Magy) Gomez Cheshire, walked through the Gates of Heaven to meet Jesus on Sept. 22, 2017. Second dad: Bill Cheshire. Moved to AZ 1963. Graduated Phoenix College 1965. ASU 1967, B.S. Psychology; 1969 M.A. in Physical Education, 1981 Ed.D., Secondary Education. Married Sue Cole 1967. Two children, Christophe­r and Jennifer. Encanto Park recreation, 1963 – 1977. Teacher: Royal Palm Jr High, 1971-1982, math, computer science, gifted education. Gary Tang Adult Education, GED, ESOL, computer lab. Computer Horizons, 1982-1994 Disability computers. Rancho Vistamar, B&B, Punta Banda, Mexico. 6-07-77 Diving accident resulted in a C5/6 injury. Fred’s Fridays by Royal Palm students and families, Encanto Park friends and many donors purchased a wheelchair van and modified house on 19th Ave. Beginning with his mother, a series of attendants added to his list of friends. Encouraged other quads and paras. In 1999 a beautiful lady from Columbia applied for an attendant job. Fred fell head over heels in love and they married in 2001. Fred and his Magy have had seventeen years of happiness together, classes, church activities, family projects and ping pong. Fred always eager to explore further and Magy right with him. On September 7, 2017, the unexpected happened. After a routine sinus procedure, Fred suffered an injury causing a stroke with no hope for recovery. Those left behind: wife, Magaly Cheshire; mother, Mariam Lewis Heiny Cheshire; son, Christophe­r Alan (Adriana); daughter, Jennifer Cheshire Hampton (Raud); granddaugh­ters Terrian Cheshire King, (Clifton); Talia; Tia; Veronica Hampton; great granddaugh­ter, Astoria King; half-sister, Colleen Heiny Hornack; step grandchild­ren Jairo and Ariana Barrera; step-daughter Grace Juarez (Leon); step-grandchild­ren Filipe and Salome Ramirez.
