Mountain Artists Guild Fine Art & Wine Festival
Prescott — Arizona’s official quaint small town (or so it would seem) — hosts one of its more popular festivals as the picturesque Courthouse Plaza fills with more than 140 artisans offering their creations. You’ll find works in all sorts of media, including metal, ceramics, glass and canvas. Visit the wine garden for samples from local wineries.

Step back to 1904 and hear stories of survival and success in young Flagstaff as the Riordan ladies share their tales during a guided mansion tour. This family-friendly event offers 12 hours of free fun activities for all ages. The highlight is the parade with floats, antique cars, horses, clowns and more. Start the day with a pancake breakfast and then watch cadets demonstrate firefighter skills. Stay for the live music and dancing and check out the food court when hunger strikes.

Train fans of all ages enjoy a day of train-related activities in Flagstaff Train Day. Check out the live music, crafts and displays of railroad items, and take the youngsters to the Kids Depot. A cake cutting with Mayor Coral Evans is scheduled for 10 a.m. and from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. children can hop aboard for the Kiddie Caboose Train Rides. Check the website for additional activities.
