SCOTTSDALE – Jackie Rechlin, 87, of Scottsdale, Arizona, lost her battle with Leukemia Saturday, August 18, 2018. She was born July 21, 1931, in Bay City, Michigan. She is survived by her husband, John Sr.; son, John II (Barb); daughters, Kam Rechlin (Brenda) and Kristi Tjader (Quinn); grandchildren, Kamron Rechlin and Jennifer Cardie (Dylan); great grandson Nolan Cardie; sister, Janice Asel, all of Phoenix; and brothers, Gary Bossbach of Bay City, Michigan and Jerry Bossbach of Houston, TX.

John and Jackie recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. They were married in Beverly Hills, California when John was in the USMC. The couple spent four years in Houghton, Michigan while John pursued his engineering degree at Michigan Tech. Among John’s classmates, their home was the place to gather for Jackie’s delicious home baked goods. After which, John worked various large construction projects moving through Chicago, Cleveland, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and finally settling in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1963.

Jackie loved the adventure of travel so much that when her son invited her to backpack throughout Egypt and Greece for 2 whole months, she became a world traveler. After that, she took on the world, experiencing Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, and never looked back. Jackie planned fabulous trips, i.e. Cancun, Disney World Orlando, Cabo San Lucas, Hawaii, Houseboat on Lake Powell, for her entire family. Her daughter Kristi’s gymnastics and dancing career took her hiking down the Grand Canyon, across the U.S., throughout Europe and Japan. Jackie delighted in Kam’s adventures of taking her to places with her outrageous story telling. Kam’s sense of humor always brought Jackie a special kind of enjoyment and family unity that will last forever.

Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an extraordinary homemaker, including an excellent seamstress, wonderful home decorator and hostess, not to mention, a phenomenal cook! Jackie was the compass leading the family and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jackie requested to be cremated and that no further services be planned.
