Arizona Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks smiles at a news conference after the Cardinals beat the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday. Arizona won 28-18.

Cardinals insider Bob McManaman offers a quick recap from Sunday’s game between the Cardinals and the 49ers.

Quick recap: Josh Rosen connected with fellow rookie Christian Kirk on a 75-yard touchdown pass on the Cardinals’ first play of the game, and Josh Bynes returned a fourth-quarter fumble 23 yards for another score, as Arizona picked up its first win of the season with a 28-18 victory Sunday over San Francisco at Levi’s Stadium.

Bynes’ touchdown came with 4:33 left to play after Haason Reddick had stripped the ball loose from 49ers quarterback C.J. Beathard. The Cardinals’ offense, which was out-gained 447 yards to 223, were 2 of 12 on third-down conversions.

The Cardinals (1-4) forced five turnovers, one more than they had in their first four games combined. David Johnson (18 carries, 55 yards) also rushed for two touchdowns, giving him five TDs on the year.

Turning point: The 49ers had a chance to tie the score with 6:51 remaining after Beathard hit Trent Taylor in the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown, but Cardinals defensive end Chandler Jones battled down Beathard’s pass on the two-point conversion attempt.

The 49ers earlier missed an extra point on their first touchdown because of a poor snap and hold, and kicker Robbie Gould also missed a 45-yard field goal. Gould had been 10 for 10 coming into the game.

Star of the game: It has to be Jones, who was solid all afternoon. Not only did he bat down the twopoint conversion pass attempt, but he finished with six tackles, recovered a fumble, added a sack and had two tackles for loss and two quarterback hits.

Key injuries: Left guard Mike Iupati suffered a shoulder injury and left the game in the third quarter. He was replaced by Daniel Munyer, but Iupati was able to return. Right tackle Andre Smith left the game in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury. He was replaced by John Wetzel.

Up next: The Cardinals travel to face the Vikings Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Vikings have won 4 of the last 5 contests.
