Julep, a dog in mint condition

-

Each week, The Arizona Republic highlights a handful of the many pets up for adoption at Valley shelters. To check the status of a specific animal, please contact the shelter directly.

Found wandering the streets of Phoenix with severely swollen ears and feet, adorable 8-year-old Julep was in pretty rough shape when she was rescued by the Arizona Humane Society in early September. While being cared for in AHS’ trauma hospital, it was found that, like many people, the adorable Labrador retriever mix has allergies. This was the cause of her swollen feet and ears and is something that can easily be cared for with a mixture of a proper diet and medicine.

Anyone who knows the sweet 52- pound dog would tell you that Julep is full of sugar and honey. With a huge tail that wiggles when she gets excited, the chatterbox never runs out of things to say and is the best conversation starter.

House and leash-trained, the adorable doggo is a fan of long walks where she can stop to smell the roses and explore every inch of her surroundings.

How to adopt: Julep will be available for adoption today at noon at the Arizona Humane Society’s Campus for Compassion at 1521 W. Dobbins Road in Phoenix. Her adoption fee includes her spay surgery, current vaccinations, microchips and a free follow-up wellness exam. For more information, call 602997-7585 and ask for animal No. 589104.
