Joel G. Lieberman

PHOENIX – LTC (R) Joel G. Lieberman passed while on vacation in Caen, France on October 10, 2018. He is survived by his daughter Helen Ranney and son Richard Lieberman and their spouses; his five grandchildren Sarah Lynch, Valerie Smith, Herb Lieberman, Zack Thompson, Jacob Lieberman; seven great-grandchildren; along with Tristan who was like a son.

Joel was very proud of his career accomplishments where he served two tours in Vietnam. Upon finishing his active duty, he became a civil engineer for Maricopa County where he designed roads that helped people move around the growing valley. Professionally he is most proud of his time teaching engineering at Phoenix Community College where he helped his students better their lives.

Funeral is at 9:00 AM Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85020. Burial to follow at 11:00 AM at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek, Phoenix 85024. The family requests casual attire.
