Flake is wrong to oppose troop deployment to the border

I just watched a politician talk with a lot of hate in his voice and not much knowledge.

I am talking about our Sen. Jeff Flake. He is an embarrassment to our great state.

He thinks sending troops to the border is a political stunt and that it is wrong that they should be away from their families on the holidays.

Hey, Senator, that’s what they do. Remember we still have troops in the Middle East. What about them? Let’s bring them home.

I am a retired soldier with 22 years service and three tours in Vietnam. Your term will be up at the end of the year. I hear California is nice, you should move there.

A lot of us would be very happy.

A choice for U.S. Senate that would disgrace memory of McCain

Will a pawn of the Koch brothers present a pawn to President Trump?

It would disgrace Sen. John McCain’s legacy for Gov. Doug Ducey to appoint Martha McSally to his vacant seat.

Roberts shows good judgment in supporting McSally appointment

Congratulations to columnist Laurie Roberts for her suggestion to name Martha McSally to fill the soonto-be-vacated John McCain Senate seat.

In this age of rancor and divisiveness, we need to do something to change the tone in Washington. Arizona could lead the way.

A McSally appointment should be a big turn-off to most Republicans

If Gov. Doug Ducey was to appoint Martha McSally to replace U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl, would this not be the equivalent of the political correctness that conservatives loath, in which everyone gets an award for participating so their fee-fees won’t get hurt?

A U.S. immigration policy that will once again separate families

Immigrant families across America could soon be faced with an impossible choice: feeding their families or being deported.

According to a newly proposed immigration rule, a person residing legally in the U.S. would be denied permanent residency if they have used any form of government aid. This is immoral.

Action is needed now to stop the rule before it’s too late.

I am perplexed over the notion that

❚ even legal residents have little incentive to get aid because they were not born in America.

This action clearly displays the misconstrued direction that the administration is taking on immigration policy, as there seems to be a belief that cutting off aid to anyone of non-American birth would solve the issue of illegal immigration, further exacerbating the effects of poverty, such as violence, that the administration is trying so hard to eradicate.

We can all take a minute and leave a comment on the Federal Register. That goes for our members of Congress as well — they should all be speaking out against a policy that will separate families and promote impossible choices.

Would you take a look at that: McSally was right all along

Throughout the U.S. Senate campaign in Arizona, Martha McSally said Kyrsten Sinema could not be trusted.

Throughout her campaign, Sinema said she would not vote for Chuck Schumer as Senate minority leader.

The verdict is out. On Wednesday, Schumer was re-elected as Senate minority leader on a unanimous voice vote. It was Sinema’s first day on the job as a senator-elect.

Sadly, she could not wait one day to lie to the people of Arizona.
