PHOENIX – David Richards of Phoenix, Arizona passed away suddenly, yet painlessly in his sleep on October 10, 2018. He is survived by wife, Sandy Richards, daughters, Sherry, Meghan, and Ashley along with five grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory are sisters, Janis and Trish Richards, their daughters and grandchildren, extended family and many friends.

Dave was born and raised in Athabasca, Alberta, Canada. He traveled to the United States in college and remained, but his heart was always in the Great White North.

An entrepreneur and master salesman, Dave had several businesses throughout the years. His most successful was Axxess Keys which was purchased later by Hillman Group. His consultation work took him throughout much of the world which suited his love of travel and connecting with people. In retirement, he drove Uber and Lyft loving the social interaction.

There was often a story of somebody’s life he had found fascinating to share with friends and family.

He also loved sports, especially football. Those that knew him didn’t call during a Philadelphia Eagles or Arizona Cardinals game. He sure loved his birds!

Dave cared more for others than himself and was happiest when everything was “copacetic”.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no memorial service. His ashes have been scattered in the place he loved best. In lieu of flowers or donations, a simple toast and remembrance of a fond memory will be just lovely. He would have appreciated a gesture such as that.
