Home theaters, fitness centers and a 15-car garage are among the luxurious features in some of this week's most expensive home sales in metropolit­an Phoenix.

E & C Operations LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, purchased an 18,900-square-foot Arcadia mansion with views of Camelback Mountain and two acres of irrigated citrus orchards. Peter and Stephanie Sperling sold the mansion. Peter Sperling is the former chairman of Apollo Education Group and is ranked on Forbes 2018 World’s Billionair­es list.

Sperling listed the Arcadia mansion for sale for $16.85 million in 2017. He paid $2.45 million for the house in 1995, according to real estate records.

He did a big expansion of the property that was designed by acclaimed architect George Christense­n. The estate now has a 3,500-square-foot guesthouse, a 1,500-square-foot fitness center and a caretaker cottage.

Steven G. Rosenfield and Linda Nash, owners of Phoenix-based Mexican restaurant Barrio Queen, paid cash for a 9,490-square-foot mansion in Paradise Valley.

The estate has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, wood-beamed ceilings and a twelve-seat home theater.

The mansion has motorized pocket doors that open to a backyard that includes a putting green, sport court, ramada with fireplace and a resort-size pool.

Danny Granger sold the home.

Christophe­r A. Russell and his wife Amber purchased a ranch-style house in Phoenix.

The 4,800-square-foot single-level house sits on a 0.43-acre lot and has five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The kitchen at the Turner home has double islands. Krogh Enterprise­s, LLC, an Arizona Limited Liability Company, sold the house.

The 5,070-square-foot house has four bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

The house was recently remodeled with upgrades that include a keyless front door, 14-foot ceilings, sliding glass window wall, custom cabinetry and wood tile flooring.

The kitchen has double islands and features Campina and obsidian quartz countertop­s. The master bedroom suite includes a bathroom with an elegant Victoria and Albert limestone tub. The backyard has a Pergola, barbecue station, pool/spa and McDowell mountain views.

Ronald V. Nazareth, a psychiatri­st practicing in Glendale, sold the house.

R. Shirley Pontious, Trustee of the R. Shirley Pontious Family Living Trust, bought a house in Scottsdale’s Cactus Acres community.

The 4,960-square-foot house has five bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and views of the McDowell mountains. Architectu­ral design features of the house include exposed wood beams, brick/stone accents and stone and wood flooring.

The house also comes with a 44-foot long RV garage that fits nine to fifteen automobile­s.

The backyard features a heated Pebble Tec diving pool/spa, fire pit and outdoor kitchen with fireplace.

Julia Kathryn Neufeld sold the house through her family trust.
