1 killed in shooting at Surprise restaurant
A shooting at a Surprise restaurant left one man dead and another in custody Wednesday night, officials said.
At around 11:15 p.m., police were called to Tailgaters & IL Primo at 15529 W. Bell Road, near Reems Road. Police found Surprise resident Troy Paille, 28, whom they suspect of shooting another man outside the restaurant, said Sgt. Tim Klarkowski of the Surprise Police Department.
When officers arrived, patrons of the restaurant were physically restraining Paille while others were providing first aid to Anthony Kenny, 27, who was shot, Klarkowski said. Kenny, also a Surprise resident, was taken to the hospital, where he later died, Klarkowski said.
The investigation remains active, and police have learned that the Kenny and Paille were associates and “had previous disputes in the past,” Klarkowski said.
Self-driving car company Waymo launched a paid program called Waymo One on Wednesday. The day of the launch was incorrect.
