- – Jal (Jo Alice) Morriss, age 79, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on December 31, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles Peter Morriss Sr.

Jal was born at home on August 27, 1939 in Grosse Tete, Louisiana the oldest of 2 children to John Bunyan Frizzell and Mary Euphamia Angelloz Frizzell. She was raised on the Bayou in Rosedale, LA and attended Shady Grove School until the 10th grade.

Her brother, John Bonner Frizzell and step mom, Viola Gass Frizzell preceded her in death along with grandparen­ts Albert Joseph and Alice Regina Angelloz and Jo Ella and John Bose Frizzell. Jal is survived by her 3 children: Charles Peter Morriss II (Lisa), Dana Michele Hubbell Peru (Ramey) and Robin Suzette Morriss Lindop. Known as GrandMom, she leaves 8 grandchild­ren and 4 Great Grandchild­ren. She leaves 3 sister in laws, nephews, nieces, an aunt and many cousins.

At age 15, Jal moved to El Paso, Texas and graduated from Burgess High School in 1957 where she was a member/leader of over 12 organizati­ons. In El Paso, Jal sang with her mother at Fort Bliss, Biggs Air Base, the Lions and Rotary club and sang with Bill Swan’s Dance Band and Lew Barton’s Orchestra. She was the lead in South Pacific and acted in other plays. She worked as an IBM key punch operator and at El Paso Natural Gas. She volunteere­d for Women’s Junior league, March of Dimes, PTA and youth choir director at the Methodist church.

Jal moved to Arizona in 1969 where she obtained her Real Estate license in Flagstaff and won many production awards and helped create the first MLS in the area. Her volunteer spirit continued as she was president of the PTO, Campfire girl and Brownie leader and on the School board. In 1976, her family moved to Tempe/Mesa/Chandler where she continued her impressive Real Estate Career. She was a Manager at Ed Post Realty in Chandler, Manager, trainer and Regional Vice President of Coldwell Banker, Broker and legal counsel for Keller Williams and ended her career with her husband as owner of Arizona Lifestyles Realty. She served and led many Real Estate committees.
