George R. Garcia

WITTMANN – George R. Garcia, 89, of Wittmann, passed away January 7 in his home surrounded by his loving family. George was born February 22, 1929 in Peoria, AZ, the son of Martin and Emelia (Ramirez) Garcia. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and had worked as an Administrator for the County. George is survived by his wife of 63 years, Celia G. (Gonzalez); his loving children, Blas G. Garcia, Rita (Dan) Brien, Cecilia (Scott) Gonzalez, George M. Garcia, Carolina Hickman, Cynthia Garza, and Jaime (Nicole) Garcia; his brothers, Martin (Belia) and Ernesto Garcia; his sisters, Mary Moreno, Carmen Beltran, Emily (Robert) Vizerra, and Tina Contreras; 24 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria D. Garcia, his parents, Martin and Emelia, and his sister Lupe Ramos. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17 at Sunwest Funeral Home 12525 NW Grand Ave., El Mirage from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. with a rosary service at 10 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Church, 17111 W.
