GLENDALE – Dale Joseph Milnes, age 94, died on Friday, January 4, 2019 in Glendale, AZ surrounded by his family. From his birth to death he experienced a myriad of accomplishments & achievements which helped shaped him to become the astute man he was & the adventurous life he lived.

He was the 2nd child of 3 born to Thomas J. & Genevieve Milnes on November 29, 1924 in Lawrence, MA. At 17 he joined the Navy after the attack on Pearl Harbor & became the youngest Chief Petty Officer in the 7th Fleet. After his discharge, he married Rosemarie Milnes who joined him in pursuing his endeavors. His appetite for learning resulted in him graduating from University of Chicago in 1948. In 1957 he packed up his 3 kids, dog & boat & voyaged to AZ to pursue his dream of owning his own company, Ozone Research & Equipment Corporation. His research & implementation of equipment became world renown. As his young family grew to 5 children, he involved himself & family in hunting, theater, horses, & sought other activities that brought passion to his life. Dale was an avid reader & continuous student of everything. He owned, trained, & raced Quarter & Thoroughbred Horses which kept him intrigued for decades. He went on to own & fly several aircraft up to the age of 85. He acquired a love for golf, especially after his hole-in-one, a sport he engaged in for his entire life.

In 1988, he & his new wife, Carol moved to Indiana to retire on his terms & raise his new family of 3 children to farm the land, care for all kinds of birds & animals, plant orchards & golf. In 2008, at 85 years old, he boldly packed up his car, fired up his GPS system & headed to New England to visit family, before traveling across the US continent back to AZ. In his final years he continued to write a biography memorializing the 19th & 20th Century from his personal experiences & perspective, however, the last chapter was left in his mind.
