PHOENIX – Richard “Dick” S. Allemann, 90, passed away on December 22, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Anne, and stepchildr­en Allayn Stevens and Robert Stevens.

Born in New York, he served in the United States Army from 1946 until his honorable discharge in 1948. Dick enrolled at the University of Arizona in 1951 where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1955 and a Juris Doctor degree in 1957. Upon his admission to the State Bar of Arizona that same year he practiced law at the Yuma, Arizona law firm of Westover, Mansfield, Westover & Copple. Dick then began his long and distinguis­hed career as a public lawyer at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office in 1958 where he became the Chief Criminal Deputy County Attorney. In 1961 Dick was appointed Special Assistant to the Solicitor of the U.S. Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C. In 1964 he returned to Phoenix as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Arizona where he served until 1991. In 1991 Dick was appointed Chief of the Transporta­tion Section of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office where he served until his retirement in 1997. Interment will be Friday, January 25, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix. A celebratio­n of Dick’s life will follow immediatel­y after the interment at Aunt Chiladas Squaw Peak restaurant, 7330 N. Dreamy Draw Drive, Phoenix.
