Robert Joseph Vales

GLENDALE – Robert “Bob” Joseph Vales 82, passed away on January 7, 2019 surrounded by loved ones in Glendale, AZ. Born in Dayton, OH. to Joseph Vales and Marcella Adams. Bob is a graduate of the Seminary of Our Lady Queen of the Angels and received his MA & BA from ASU. Mr. Vales was a Youth minister, athletic coach, advisor, and advocate for blood donation. Bob’s passion was teaching, 4 years at OLPH and 29 years at Bourgade Catholic HS, and he surely influenced many students and touched many families in the Valley of the Sun. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ethel, and daughters, Susan Schwartz (Jon) and Janet Malefors as well as his 11 grandchildren, his brother Jim Vales (Michelle), sister Joanne Owens (Jim) and sister–in-law Pattie Vales plus many nieces & nephews. Robert was predeceased by his Brothers Richard, Jack and Joe Vales. Funeral will be held Wednesday, January 16 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glendale, AZ at 10AM. Rosary said at 9:30 AM.
